I was a victim of bullying most of my primary and middle school years. I felt no one at the school cared, nor the parents. I was always the one people wanted to beat up in those days, but I never really wanted to fight. But at least back in those days, you could knock the crap out of someone to leave you alone (because the schools would not do anything). Nowadays, you are forbidden to strike back, and often it is the VICTIM who is in trouble if s/he strikes back in any way! THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE, and I suspect that is why so many folks go off the rails with shooting and such behavior because they are backed in a corner. Not that this makes it right, but I at least understand their mindset that perhaps "if the school cared about me, they would do something, etc." and only to be let down when no one helps them but the ones doing the bullying. PARENTS and SCHOOLS - think about these things, you may be contributing inadvertently to the next bullying catastrophe if you support the bully and not the victim!
