I was a young reporter in San Diego, stuck on a weekend shift, - TopicsExpress

I was a young reporter in San Diego, stuck on a weekend shift, assigned to cover some sort of benefit triathlon in La Jolla. I find out Robin Williams is one of the celebrity participants. I ask him for an interview as he is about to take off on his bike and he says, Oh! Im about to leave but I will give you an interview when Im done if thats ok. Want to meet me right here after the race is over? Sure thing I say. But inside I was like Yeah right hes gonna meet me. Hes just gonna leave as soon as hes done to avoid reporters! The race ends and Im already done writing my package and Im sitting in my live truck while its being edited. Suddenly I hear, Hi, Jinah? Did you still want to interview me? I did a double take and wouldnt you know Robin Williams is in front of me, waving. He said hed waited for me at the spot we were supposed to meet and when I didnt show up he decided to see if he could find me. I did interview the man. Top of my piece. And Ill never forget how wonderful, kind, funny and considerate he was. I am so sad such a person is gone...
