I was asked by Lisa D. Braxton to do the Word of God Challenge. God lead me to Galatians 5:22-26, dealing with Fruit of the Spirit. We are living in times where the attributes of Jesus Christ are very hard to see in the world today; especially in the Body of Christ. Each attribute has a significant meaning and exemplifies a special characteristic of Jesus Christ. When we become saved (born-again believers), we become Christs disciples (followers of Jesus Christ); therefore we must become Christ-Like. Galatians 5:22-26 clearly defines what Jesus Christs persona was. These attributes described how He was able to carry out His ministry assignment in the earth. Love is the very first attribute. The bible declares that God Is Love. John 3:16 says, For God so LOVED the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish, but shall have everlasting life...Amen! Love is self-sacrificing, Love is pure and kind. The second attribute is Joy. Jesus Christ is Joy; serving Him is joyous! The bible declares in Isaiah 26:10, that the Joy of The Lord Is Our Strength. The third attribute is Peace. Serving Jesus Christ brings Peace in our lives as born-again believers. No matter what we face or go through, when we pray and seek the Lord, He provides Peace in our hearts and spirit that passeth all understanding as the bible says in Philippians chapter 4. The fourth attribute is Long-suffering. Jesus Christ is our purest example of what it means to Suffer. The Blood He shed for the remission of sin at Calvary for every born-again believer was undeniable .....Hallelujah, Glory to God! We will never know the extent of Christs sufferings. As the songwriter penned...Jesus Paid It All...All To Him I Owe!!! What we go through is just a mere glimpse of what He endured for us...Amen!! The fifth attribute is Gentleness. Jesus Christ is gentle and kindhearted. Very slow to anger, He was (and still is) compassionate to His children. The sixth attribute is Goodness. We hear that old cliche: God Is Good All The Time and All The Time God Is Good!! Jesus Christ proves His goodness towards us each and everyday in ways such as: Life, Health, Strength, Provision, Protection, Healing and Deliverance. The seventh attribute is Faith!! Well this attribute carries a lot of weight with Jesus. Faith is the core to our belief system. The bible declares, that without Faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God. It also says, that the JUST (chosen, sold out, called, elect) shall live by FAITH!!! Having Faith in Christ Jesus is unwavering, unmoveable, unshakeable, constant, sure...Amen! We must exemplify an undying Faith in Jesus Christ. Another biblical cliche that we must hold on to: Prayer Is The Key, But FAITH Unlocks The Door! The eighth attribute is Meekness. Jesus was very meek and mild. He was humble and patient. Christ was submissive to God, the Father. His integrity was extraordinary. He was a class act...Yes He was!! The ninth and final attribute is Temperance. Christ always kept His composure; no matter the circumstance He faced. His counteness never wavered! He never lost focus of His assignment. So, the Fruit of the Spirit are requirements that each of us as born-again believers must exercise in our daily walk with Christ. The bible declares that, He That Winneth Souls Is Wise. These attributes denoted who Jesus was in human flesh. He won many souls during His ministry and He taught the disciples that this what was needed to win souls. Not one us is perfect, but we must strive to perfect ourselves in Jesus Christ through the Word of God. We are the Living Epistles of Christ Jesus in the earth. Just as the songwriter wrote: Im Striving To Make 100, Because 99 1/2 Just Wont Do!!! I challenge anyone who would like to share the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ....Amen!!! God Bless!!!
