I was asked some time ago to give an evaluation of a painting and this was the analysis I rendered. Can you determine what structure I am describing with the information that follows? Structure: The walls are the support. It would be a bearing wall in that the structure is solid and the material is continuous. Material: The structure is either stone or concrete. I would assume that stone was used because of the age of the building. Solid material would be used by my estimation based on security purposes of those that reside there. Scale and Proportion: The structure is massive. It gives the impression of power and wealth. Seems intimidating because of the size and the grayish tent. Context: Gates have a harmonizing affect. It compliments the massive size and statues present give off an aroma of properness. Space: Validates the importance of those dwelling within. Supports the notion of power and wealth. A function of status. Climate: Dreary. The grayness of the building screams for attraction. A bystander would surely be out of his or her element. Reaction: Astonished with the size and makeup of the structure but I find myself more curious about the inhabitants within. I must admit I do hope they are happier than the structure radiates. It seems as though the structure is sad and on the verge of crying.
