I was asked to read Proverbs 14: 1-18 and it had a couple of things that stuck out to me. First, it tells that a wise woman is a blessing to her family. She builds her house not in the physical but with the moral, spiritual and practical teaching and training for each member. The foolish will tear her family down with her own hands. It may me look at myself and ask am I a blessing or curse to my family. What am I teaching my daughter, am I guiding her in the right direction or leading her to destruction. Second, some people seek wisdom and not find it because they do not take it seriously. They only do it for pride and not to glorify God. Wisdom is for the humble who are eager to be taught. God will not reveal his truth unless we come as humble and submissive seekers. We must apply Gods word to our life and seek out Godly counsel. Third, Sin is being made to look like the cool thing to do. We should be careful the things we watch and listen to on tv, movies, radio, cds, etc. Only fools do not take sin seriously and believe those things will not affect his walk with God. Fourth, we should not listen to our fleshy desires which leads to sin and death. It may feel good while we are doing it but it leads us down a dangerous path of destruction. Last, we should not walk around as simple people. Simple people ignore Gods word. They do not make good decisions and can easily be led to sin. We should apply our self to the word of God that we might learn and be crowned with knowledge.
