I was asked yesterday if I would do headshots for a Doctors office...just a hypothetical question. And my answer was probably not...and most likely I would not get asked to. Everything on my facebook, blog and website is marketing it self towards people who love the way I shoot...outdoors. Im not a studio light set up girl, Im just not drawn (yet) towards that style of photography. Who knows maybe Ill change things up. You kind of figure out who you want to market yourself to as you continue to shoot all kinds of photography. Weddings, family, portraits, senior, newborn...etc. What you produce visually for your FB client and what is on your website will be attracting those ideal clients. If you continue to get asked for a style that does not reflect who you want to be as a photographer...check your website and fb. What are you mostly showing the world what you can do? If you dont know yet, then I recommend trying your hand at all of the above. My Dad told me when I was just starting out...its your 10,000 th shot Betz...thats when you will know. Im not sure of the numbers on how many shots Ive taken...haha...Im sure Im well past that number... I know who I want to attract as my client. And Im confident that I reflect that in my work. And yes, Im one of those who does not specialize. I always say I specialize in people. ;p PS to my clients reading this...love you! haha. Happy random two cents day!
