I was blessed to participate in a wonderful action today. Organizers made clear the intent for the action to be led and represented by people of color- while also welcoming and honoring all who attended. The focus, goals and parameters of the action were clearly articulated, and organizers explicitly refused to discourage folks who might want to take other actions or use other tactics. I-35W northbound was shut down! Folks laid down in the highway for a die-in at the Lake Street exit! The march continued up 35W for a die-in at City Hall! I had to leave early to be a parent, but I left amped for more actions in the coming weeks, months and years and thankful for the thoughtful and hard work behind this great day.
