I was born in Israel in 1957. My parents went through the holocaust. Here are a few narratives I grew up into: Only Jews have holocaust (a Greek word meaning great destruction or loss of life or the source of such destruction, esp fire). Mostly Jews died in Europe during wwii. Only Jews - really - know what suffering is. Only Jews are being hated and persecuted. Only Jews are smart. Only Jews are honest. Only the Jews deserve to be supported. Only the Jews are right. Israel has the best and the most moral army. The IDF is defending us from our enemies. They are all against us, always, and we are unlucky that we got the most stubborn and hating enemy. We Really Right. There is nobody to talk to. We live and die by the IDF technological advantage and performance. I grew into all that as the Truth! I live in Brooklyn. I am not an Israeli citizen. I am an American citizen and I vote and pay taxes in my new country. I dont have a Hebrew keyboard and my hand writing in Hebrew wouldnt have passed my first grade teacher. My Facebook page is full of dear! friends who are asking: who are you to tell us what to do while sitting in your living room in Brooklyn? I dont have any right to tell you what to do. I dont have a shortNeasy to-do list to share with you. I dont see what you are seeing and I dont experience what people in Israel or in Gaza, are experiencing. Heres what I live by: Everything anyone does, occurs for you the way it occurs for you, correlates with who you are and not with who they are and not with what they do and especially not with what they do to you. I am a citizen of the world who calls for each and everyone to take on Peace as a possibility right now. Even and especially right now. I invite you to be in an inquiry of what that means to you and in what way who you are affects what you see possible. I invite you to take the stand for Peace and to consider that you and I are the leaders the whole world is looking for. Love and Peace to all - right now!
