I was challenged by Lucien Jarret to name 10 books that meant something to me. Not many classics of literature, but giants in their own way, and particularly affected me when I first read them. Here they are, pretty much in the order that I read them. I like short fiction so many of these are massive anthologies that cover a lot of ground 1) Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury 2) Frankenstein by Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley 3) H.P. Lovecraft: The Complete Fiction by H.P. Lovecraft 4) The Elric of Melnibone Saga by Michael Moorcock 5) Red Harvest by Dashiell Hammett 6) In Search of the Miraculous by P. D. Ouspensky 7) The Psychotronic Guide to Film by Michael J. Weldon 8) The Complete Ghost Stories of M.R. James 9) The Nightmare Factory by Thomas Ligotti 10) The Collected Strange Stories, Vols. 1 & 2 by Robert Aickman Note that this list is very restrictive and would change almost weekly! Oh yeah, and I have to tag some friends in as well, here goes: Brendan Tobin, Melissa Martin Ellis, Suzi Arco, Justin Williams, Clayton Cowan, Brian Bednarek, Adam Lunoe, Josie Campbell Rock, Sam Gafford, Casey Weibust Tag me in your response (if you do one) so I can see!
