I was comparing notes with a friend that grew up in Cleveland, Ohio about music and disc jockey of the past. During my reminiscing I remember one of the first female D.J. of the time by the name of Allison Steele. Who else remembers listening to the Night Bird on WNEW FM 102.7 back in the early 1960s. She did the overnight show so you had to be very careful not to get busted by a parent for being up so late ;). I believe she would also announce some of the performers for the free shows in central park in the 70s.
