I was driving up Magnolia on the way back from the post office just a little while ago, and I came up behind a cyclist stopped at the signal at the intersection with State. She had a flashing red light mounted on her helmet, which is why I noticed her, and I expected her to start pedaling when the signal turned green, but instead she just sat there. As I passed, I saw that she was busily texting, and I thought, What a great idea! A flashing red light-hat should be standard equipment with all of these new phones, to alert others of distracted texters.
