I was eating a pastrami sandwich at Subway yesterday and the pastrami was particularly fatty. Naturally, I removed the unwanted bits and put them aside. But it looked gross, so I covered them with a napkin so I could eat more comfortably. Then it occurred to me. Thats what our society (and most of my Friends) are doing with the catastrophe in Gaza. We are covering it up with a napkin by not digging into the details. Heres the problem: these innocent people being slaughtered are not pastrami. And their lives are being stolen on our watch, whether or not we watch. #HaveAHeart #PayAttention #BeAware #BeOutraged #Gaza Just today, Israel bombed a park and, with that, murdered 10 innocent children. And as long as Israel keeps expanding its illegal settlements, killing innocents en masse, refusing refugees a right to return, humiliating people at checkpoints, and imposing curfews and implementing ghettoization, Im calling this ethnic cleansing. I dont care how many genocide scholars hesitate to go that far. Wake up. Intent is never openly proclaimed and actions speak much louder than words.
