I was honored again this year to be the auctioneer for the Blue Angels Foundation Fundraiser. It was golf, dinner & auction at Del Mar Country Club on Thursday. Friday was a visit to Freedom House in San Diego where the funds we raise go directly to and then the Air Show at Miramar with all the former Blue Angels. Check out their websites: warriorfoundation.org blueangelsfoundation.org 1st 2 pictures are my golf partners, in the cart with my is Commander Bill Wheat, Blue Angel from 1966 to 1969 and then Commander in the Navy. The other cart is Rear Admiral Ernie Christensen, Blue Angel 1967 to 1969 and the in charge of Top Gun at Miramar, with his son in law Randy. WOW!!! Some pictures before golf, then some pictures of Friday morning at Freedom Station where Wounded Warriors (both Marines) live to transition into society after they are out of the military and where the money we raise goes. As you will see, these guys have lost one or more limbs. Yes, I had some tears in my eyes that morning, had time to talk to them both personally and find out their stories. I am pictured with Mike, is now living on his own, is working with other Wounded Warriors refurbishing auto parts out of a garage. Toran, lost both is legs and a hip, had major brain damage and now rides his bike on marathons and will be riding across American starting June 2015. I will send you more information when that happens in case you want to donate to his ride. Then a few from the Air Show in the Blue Angel tent and ending with the sunset from the Pacifica restaurant in Del Mar for the final Blue Angel Alumni dinner that I am so lucky to be invited to.
