I was in a minor car accident last week where the other person backed into the front of my BMW. It resulted in some plastic bits getting broken and scratches to the front bumper, but the airbag was still intact. The damage was minor, but still expensive bits. I was concerned that the other party wasnt going to take accountability for the accident. Without a dash cam it doesnt look good when someone backs into your front bumper. They can easily claim that I rear ended them. Today, I learned from my insurance that the other party took full accountability.What a relief. And, my faith in the goodness of humanity is bolstered to this small degree. It feels good to be living in a world where there are people that do the right thing. My personal accountability in this incident is that I wasnt a jerk at the scene after the accident. I was actually pretty cool and nonplussed about it. I find that this attitude makes it easier for people to admit fault, and Im grateful when I can pull it off.
