I was in the bow shop when in walks a guy carting to newest top of the line Mathews bow. He was asking to have a new cam put on it, said he needed more speed. I asked him why? Figured he shot competitions. He said, out there at 70 or 80 yards if a deer flinches, hell duck the arrow. Hes already shooting a bow with a draw length thats too long trying to get extra speed. Adding his new cam, so IBO IS probably 340fps in that neighborhood. A deer will jump at the sound of the string. But, come on! This guy is shooting a bow that cost twice what is truck is worth, why? Speed! Ted Nugent kills more deer than most of us see in a year. His bow draw weight is 45lbs. Another dude falling pray to the advertisers. Shot placement is what kills, not speed. What are your thoughts?
