I was interviewed by CCTV in Beijing last night on the policy - TopicsExpress

I was interviewed by CCTV in Beijing last night on the policy changes implicit with a new government in India. During this interview I was asked: Now that the USA has agreed to give Narendra Modi a visa, do you think he will go to the USA? I answered that the manner in which the question was framed is improper and a trifle demeaning. Narendra Modi has not applied for a visa and was not about to either. The blacklisting and now lifting the restriction were unilateral US actions and reactions. And quite contrary to the suggestion, it was the US President, Barack Obama, who called Modi and personally invited him to Washington DC. It was Obamas responsibility that, if Modi accepts to visit, to ensure that he is recieved with the respect and dignity due to an Indian Prime Minister.
