I was listening to Alison Krauss and Union Station this morning and was immediately back in another time. I was back in my red 1984 Chevy S-10 Blazer, traveling down Rice Rd, weaving in and out of the sunbeams. I have seen a lot in my life. I havent been very capable of arriving at very many absolute conclusions. But Ill say this with conviction: Nothing is more beautiful than Charlotte, NC in the spring. Well.....maybe expect for clear stiletto heels. I digress. The way the green leaves have stark contrast to the blue sky. The Dogwoods making you notice that the woods arent dead anymore. The Bradford Pears blooming along the parkways. All the birds returning. Its pretty awesome. It will always be home.
