I was listening to four black men who had form some type of group. Who are against the democratic party. Im more of a liberal and vote for who I think will do the best job, although I not always right that (lol) I think its important to keep a balance of both parties in congress and senate although that doesnt always happen either. The (4) men in their group were ask one question each and the last man was ask what did he think about the president wanting to raise the minimum wage The man responded by saying What good will it do to raise the minimum wage if we dont have a job and he was right, what good will it do. Weve seen record high unemployment, there have been reports of people who have finally given up looking at all. My son has a friend who has worked in restaurants for (12) or (13) years. Hes in college and is working his way through. He just recently got married and lost his job around the same time. He has looked and looked but hasnt been able to make a dent. All of the experience he has, plus the fact that hes in college is impressive enough to land any type of restaurant job but the fact that he isnt able too, is a very scary thing. When when minimum does go up, so will taxes and so will many other things, it will be almost impossible to find any type job at all. Employers will be forced to let many employees go because they wont be able to pay them. Now dont misunderstand what Im saying I am all for raising minimum wage. I worked back when it was $5.15 an hour and even when it was lower. The very last job, I had paid $7.25 an hour and Im so happy that I dont have to work now or look for work because if I did, then Id be homeless, and hungry and cold because I wouldnt be able to find a job. Yes raising minimum wage sounds like a good idea but sometimes even when you do things with the best of intentions, it can back fire in your face. All these things Obama is doing sounds good but it wont take long before we find out they are not. My son has received so many (denials of payment letters) where medicaid refuses to pay for the services he received, he even got a letter of denial for the full amount of the surgery he just had on his knee, which was medically necessary. If this keeps on doctors will completely stop taking medicaid altogether. Ive even gotten (2) letters myself for either denial or reduced payments which Ive never gotten before. I have always believed that healthcare is a basic human right especially sense we were the richest, most powerful nation in the world, we should take care of our own people before we should all these other nations, we send so much money too. The problem is, we are not the richest, most powerful nation in the world anymore. We are barely staying afloat and it truly wont be long before this ship is going to sink. Its not a matter of if, its only a matter of when.........
