I was looking this morning papers; The Himalayan, Kantipur. I happened to look after the following news in the papers; 1. Hydro export to India could help economy 2. Cement factories not operating in full capacity due lack of energy (power) When I read these things, one thing strike my mind. We should produce energy first of all to meet our internal demand. In addition we should encourage people to use more efficient electric appliances. These will definitely help in reducing import of fuel or petroleum products, for which nation is spending the largest amount of foreign currency. With the production of more hydro based energy, our industries including tourism based could plan for more earning. Slowly we could switch over to the electric transport system too. Then the general people will not have to waste the time searching LPG gas too. For this purpose we further need to carry following: 1. Protection from the GON for infrastructure construction 2. Fast PPA of the licensed Hydro Project 3. Banks to shoulder while investing in Hydro projects 4. Definitely awareness of people in investing in the power sector 5. More transmission line. Lastly what we should not forget is that exporting power to India and then earning is only a dream at the moment. Let us try to fulfill the domestic demand and encourage for more use of it.
