I was operating portable from the beach at Panama City Beach on Friday. Heres my rig. I was working 20W from a 5AH nimh battery pack. I also have a Piglet from Pignology attached to the CAT port for rig control/logging. The select knob got broken off on the trip down, unfortunately. I can use the remote mic to work around it but its a little awkward, so I guess a trip to Yaseu for repair is in the future. The antenna was a dipole made using clothesline reels to reel out as much wire as I need for a particular band. Only had an eight foot extension pole, used a couple wood extensions to get a little more height. Next year I think Ill take a longer pole for the center, with poles to support the ends higher. I worked stations in Chicago, Arizona, Maine and Bogata, Columbia. N8HQY
