I was reading about the grinning preacher yesterday. He was bragging that he never preached against sin. In an interview with a TV network he would not name a particular sin. His wife proudly in another interview said we do not talk about sin in our church. I know I make people uncomfortable and I could be liked more if I just said stuff to make people happy. The Word of God was not written to make you happy. The Word of God is to instruct you on how to live a better life and how to get to Heaven. The Bible does not back up from naming sins and neither should we. Jesus attacked the religious leaders of His time and drew the sinners in. He loved the sinners but always told them to go and sin no more. Repent - turn around from your sinful ways. That was Jesus’ message. If it was Jesus’ message, I will have to preach it to. Jesus was not shy about naming sins neither should we. By the way, I am not perfect and I have sinned. I do thank God daily that my sins have been covered with the blood. If though I struggle daily with sin - my sins have been covered by what Jesus did at the cross. A preacher that does not preach on the wages of sin does not love enough.
