I was really working diligently to get the show finished for todays broadcast, several musical submissions having come in at the last minute, the PC working well with the music, but fighting me all the way with the word processing, the Mac coming through for the word processing (the reverse of normal as the PC usually does both very well). I spent a huge number of hours going over lots of music, most wonderful, some not so wonderful and another large number of hours working a plan of organization for the show. I was up until the wee hours of Wednesday morning working the thing out until I finally decided to do the show live to avoid some recording problems that had developed. Then my son surprised us with a visit on his birthday (Christmas Day) on Wednesday morning, which was the result of last minute fortuitous circumstances. So we all went for Chinese lunch and arrived at the studio a few minutes late. I started the show with my wonderful, understanding wife and son in the waiting area of the station and after 20 minutes asked myself Why am I here in a studio on Christmas day, which is also my sons birthday, when my wife and son are waiting patiently, bored, in the next room when we could and should be having a most pleasant family time together, which we dont get to do very often any more since my son got married in January. I could not justify it, shut down the broadcast and left to spend a relaxing day over birthday cake, coffee and really nice family conversation. Apologies to all affected. Will reschedule for another day. Hope you had a beautiful Christmas. We did.
