I was recently asked to make some sentiments for someone to add to candles for sale at a school. I wasn’t entirely certain what was required but having made a few fairly bulk standard ones, I hit on the idea of these little chaps. I adore the owl Stampin Up punch and its versatility and I struck on the idea of making some really funky little chaps with “For You” stamped on their tummies. The punch is brilliant but somewhat messy! I know that a lot of demos use an old plastic ice cream tub or similar to punch into and catch all the bits. But as usual I was over excited and couldn’t be bothered to go and get one. The resulting mess was bad!! My desk was scattered with a myriad of eyes staring up at me, along with beaks and various other body parts. I also managed to cut off one of the owls claws (poor thing), so I had to start again! The bodies were cut from Early Expresso card stock, the tummies from Very Vanilla, the eyes from Sahara Sand and Basic Black. The tummy was stamped with a now retired stampset in Early Expresso ink, and the whole ensemble finished off with a gem stone.I hope the recipient likes them, and that the school sale is a huge success.
