I was referring through internet on Nilgai or Blue bull. In north India in many places Nilgai invade agricultural landscapes and yet they are not killed instead people are only driving it away. I could understand why so many animals and birds in India could survive in close proximity to humans. The reason as said by the Western Biologist is as follows and im so proud of this situation prevailing here unlike many other regions surrounding the Indian Subcontinent and even in some countries within the Indian Subcontinent like Pakistan and Bangladesh. Nilgai is locally extinct in Bangladesh and only exists in Pakistan along the Indian Border. Throughout the range of the nilgai, most farmers are Hindus, and in Rajasthan and Haryana, many of them are Bishnois, a sect that rigorously protects all animals. Bishnoi farmers prefer to tolerate the raids on their crops rather than permit the slaughter of nilgai. So it is highly unlikely that any scheme to cull nilgai either for hunting or for local consumption will ever work in India(Kyle 1990). Long-Live India...
