I was reminded of 2 tips last night when I able to find new infor for one of our TTT members, so want to remind everyone. 1) dont be too hung up on census or immigration data - there are other random databases being loaded monthly that can unlock doors. I found Laura Patnoe Evins family member in a base called San Francisco Funeral Homes 1850-1931 during a general ancestry search 2) good old - and free - google sometimes dredges up info. I typed her ancestors name, date of death and place as a phrase in quotes and up popped his obituary with family names in a free site of digitalized California newspapers. (Bonus: where I found many articles on my ancestor, a 19th c. actress, Jewish activiist and feminist!)
