I was reminded yesterday of a feeling inside of me that has been ROARING for the past 9 months. It’s the feeling of surrendered trust. One might believe that ‘surrendered trust’ would feel soft and breezy, light and peaceful but that couldn’t be further from the truth (for me) and I also bet for others. This is another one of those places where spirituality gets misused as an excuse that abdicates peoples’ responsibility and power away from themselves to direct the course of their lives. Waiting for signs or handing over to the Universe are examples of this misuse. Surrendered trust is not a passive action. Surrendered trust is bold and fierce and certain and has the power to wield massively life-changing experiences and results. Whilst some may argue differently, I relate to the masculine energy of surrendered trust. It does not wait. Instead it commands. If your beliefs are not out of the way and if your mind is still doing its tap dance, this powerful energy of surrendered trust is not available because your ego is instead. It’s really very simple. When you choose to identify with your ego, you are not committed to that which you say you are - your vision and goals. You are committed to your beliefs. If you practise surrendered trust whilst you are committed to your beliefs, you are surrendering trust to your beliefs. Full stop. Don’t be fooled. A period of chaos will often precipitate surrendered trust. That extreme tension works magic in the commitment department – what you can no longer commit to, not for one more moment, and what you have no choice but to commit to now and in the future. You know the other magnificent realization that you have when you are in surrendered trust? Nobody else’s opinion of what you choose matters to you anymore. Whilst that may be challenging at a human level, the power of surrendered trust is so mighty that it will continue to carry you forward into your own version of freedom regardless of any opposing energy.
