I was standing giving Ableton Presentations to a window this morning, then shortly after moved into the living room and started giving another Presentation to the wall. Not the far wall though, that would have been stupid! The wall with the pictures! Ya know so it looks like people Im talking to? That wall! The cousins were a fantastic audience though I must say. They didnt even have any questions to ask after it was over. I must have demonstrated well, and they looked comfortable all throughout. Just a pity about the dog sitting on them ;p Ya know the way when you have to rehearse for something, ya gotta practice it so ya know your gonna get it right? Dont ya? I started thinking about what I would do at Schools / Academys / Institutes, if ever the opportunity came along, and I had to go and deliver a talk / seminar on Ableton to a group of New Users, to try Wow them right from the start and get them involved! What would I do for it ? ? ? So I went for a cupa coffee shortly after these demonstrations to a window, and a wall, then got an idea ! After I got an idea on the kinda way I might do some things at those kinds of events... I ran upstairs, hit record on the computer... And just improvised the whole thing on the fly and went for it... :) These are the kinds of things I might do that would get new users using Complex areas of Live, which theyve never heard of before, fast and easily, and most importantly... making something sounds that sound good from the very start Tomorrow... I will be giving a Presentation to a Bath and a Shower. Looking forward ti it. Ya just get nicer Reverb in those atmospheres!!! ;p These are my common practices in Live that work 10 times outta 10 when I deliver this way. When I use Live this way, I can guarantee that 100% each and everytime that building something like this, without even hearing what it is that Im doing throughout, but just from knowing the parameters in Live...
