I was tagged by Debby Gosik-Cargo to list 10 books that I have read which have stayed with me in some way. Wow, only 10. 1) Hardy Boys Mysteries - the series was instrumental in making a voracious reader out of me. It all started when I was just a child. 2) The Bible - especially The Jerusalem and now The Message versions. 3) The Lord Is My Shepherd and He Knows That Im Gay by Troy Perry - Mind Blowing at just the right time. Helped me but names and words to my feelings. 4) The Dune series (original 6 books - especially Dune and Dune Messiah) by Frank Herbert 5) A Course In Miracles - I would include Marianne Williamsons book A Return to Love here because although I had first bought the 3 volume set of ACIM in the last 70s - it was A Return To Love that drew me into serious study. 6) Lessons In Truth by H. Emilie Cady - first deeply metaphysical book. I read it in 1976 or 77 - powerful in that it revealed another way to look at the Spiritual Life.. 7) The Lord Wont Mind by Gordon Merrick - I have been forever a romantic dreamer since this first in a trilogy love story about Peter and Charlie 8) The Basic Text for Narcotics Anonymous - changed my life. 9) A New Earth by Eckhart Tolle - Wow is all I can say. I have rea and reread this book so many times. 10) Loving What Is by Byron Katie - Introduced me to The Work which is one pf my ongoing principle spiritual practices. 11) Conversations with God - by Neil Donald Walsch - read at the recommendation of my friend Karen. 12) The Earths Children series by Jean Auel - shared thi love of this set of books with my Grandma Ledger . Okay, I could not stop at 10 - I could have easily listed another 10 or 50 - books have shown me another world and my appetite for all kids of books has led me to a love of life long learning.
