I was talking to a client - you know when those PSIS bony landmarks can sometimes be sensitive and sometimes inflamed. The client mentioned that a therapist said they had a herniated disc. They freaked out and went thru the troubles and hassles to get XRAYS from their chiropractor or physician. The client did not have a herniated disc. She had a epidural during birth which can sometimes cause spasms and inflammation and ect. Especially when your body is time to heal. The way the client mentioned it was the therapist basically gave the client a diagnoses. Which freaked the client out. I am annoyed by stuff like this... you lost a client. Then I had to re-educate them and won a new client. Be careful when you explain something to a client... and if you are unsure refer and speak ONLY to their physician or chiropractor about this problem. Not the client! Diagnosing or coming across as diagnosing is - out of scope. ugh! Now that I know this what should do...?
