I was talking to a person who I will simply call a conspiracy theorist. But the conversation was pretty intriguing. Imagine for a minute your older like a senior citizen and you have no family that wants to take care of you an no money to afford to stay at a old folks home. Your health issue is a concern and most of the time you require some type of monitoring. What do you do? Homeless on the streets? Suicide? Well I was speaking to someone who told me about a very unique option he believes America is utilizing and seem to believe is a good option for the elderly. Prisons. I know as wild as this sounds his argument made good points. He claimed that the money put in the prison industry makes Prisons better options than elderly homes. In prison you get free health care and dental, which I never knew that. You get free cable TV, free gym membership, of course free food and rent and for and to my understanding the safety of a prison is not what the movies may have you to believe. Also education is free in prison. Imagine that. Get a freaking degree or trade for free. Meanwhile I had to get 40 thousand dollars in loans. SMH After seriously weighing the pros and cons I must admit the option of prison did not sound bad as an option. Then I started to think, how many people look at prisons like this? Is this why our rate of recidivism is so high? I often wonder why some people keep going in and out of prison but with a thought like this I understand. But once again its another American failing system. Because why reward all of societies failures and criminals with those luxuries when they should be granted toward the hardworking and underprivileged that may truly deserve it. The system is all wrong. Hell I want free cable. I would have appreciated a free college education. The mismanagement of this governments money will be the last draw that will destroy this country. Too much money is pent on the wrong things. How do you rape a kid then go to prison and get free health care, free education, free cable tv, and 3 meals a day meanwhile a war veteran is homeless? How are the assholes in Washington in there nice brooks brothers suits making logic of this? All those degrees in political science, law and business and a 12 year old can see this does not make sense. Meanwhile millions of Americas losing their homes but the government will fund prisons to have free cable TV. I mean you cant just have rapist and murders missing out on episodes of Basketball wives. SMH Got damn shame.
