I was talking with my friend of 30 years ths morning. He is an outspoken guy, so I asked him to tell me why people like himself, do not chase Jesus? My friend mentioned two brothers that we both knew, that have passed into Glory. He told of how they both had a Holy Spirit glow, about them. Then he told me that he thinks Holy Spirit moves differently on different people. He said Holy Spirit hadnt moved on him, like he has on me. I asked him to consider all of the Christians he knows, and to tell me how many displayed a life that was alluring and different than other peoples lives. He agreed that he had only been exposed to a few (as in like 3) that demonstrated this kind of radical transformation. He spoke of others who were good people, religious people, giving people, but did not glow of Gods love. One of the guys my friend spoke of was one of my all time heroes of the faith. He was a delightful man. The most humble, loving man I had ever known. His name was Glenn Spence and I was blessed to know him. The other man he named specifically was Barret Glover. Though I didnt know Barret well, I know of the glow my friend said brother Glover carried. My friend met brother Glover in jail, when brother Glover would come in and share his Lord and life with those incarcerated. I know enough about both of these men to know, they loved God with their all and loved the brethren as themselves. They showed this by their intentional labors of love (hardly seeming like dutiful actions) and the peace and love that made them glow of Fathers presence. I am not sure what all Father is showing me through this conversation, but I thought I would share it with you all. I encourage you to let me know if you have any input about this. Come let us reason together. I will tell yall, what I told my friend. I want to learn how to show people how wonderful it is to love and be loved by Jesus. I want to convey to others, how it is anything but sacrificial to be His.
