I was thinking about a song I did twelve years ago, maybe longer - TopicsExpress

I was thinking about a song I did twelve years ago, maybe longer than that. It was during the period I was having chemo for the first cancer I had and Hank persuaded me to do some recording at Ward Archers studio downtown. I was reading the Bible, saw one line, And the curtains of the temple were torn in two, and five minutes later I had written a song. Our business was dying and I was really sick. It was the best medicine ever. Hank insisted that I go in the studio, I told him I had never written a song and I didnt want to just do covers. He said, as only Hank could say, Write your own goddamned songs. And thats what I did. I wrote ten or so songs, got my brother in law, Tom Janzen, (R.I.P) to play drums and Hank and I did the rest. It got me through a very hard time in my life; I was so excited to go into the studio. It took my mind away from all my troubles. It was all because of Hank, he pretty much made me do it. Ive havent heard it in a long time, I dont have a copy but I think my friend Steve has one. Steve played on one song and did a stellar job. Its great to have good friends isnt it?
