I was thinking about a time when we would drive over to see my great grandparents. Their names were Jim and Sadie Stahl. They had a hand pump, a wood burning stove in the center of their living room and a wood burning cook stove. No inside bathroom. How life has changed in my life time. There are so many things that have changed and groups we must belong to. We have water so we must belong to a water company, electric so we must belong to a power company, heat so we belong to a gas company. So many things cost so much we must join other groups. Hospitals and Doctors cost so much we must have health insurance, cars cost so much and can cause so much damage we must join a auto insurance company. We live in the city so we must join a garbage company, a sewer company. The only thing that keeps us from doom has been laws imposed to regulate the cost for us the forced consumer. Now cable tv and internet providers. As much as we love our independence we are a people dependent on others. We must also join together and make sure we all can afford to live in this new world. We can not go back so we need new ideas to move forward.
