I was thinking about this all day today. Mainly because there is a lesson that is personal to me involved. On the news, they were showing the aftermath of the attack at a Jewish Synagogue in Jerusalem. The newscaster (if thats the right term) says, what you are about to see is graphic, be sure and shield your children from viewing... My first thought is, why?? Maybe the youth in America need to see whats happening around the world. The violence that other youth are forced to live in. Then maybe having a cell phone or Facebook or Snapchat wont seem so important. Maybe they need to see the children who wish their only headache was getting up for school in the morning. I bet there are 1000s of kids who were wishing they were sitting through another boring class right before they were lined up, shot in the back of the head and thrown away in a mass grave with their parents like trash. Some, not all (I am aware that there are homeless and orphaned kids in America) kids need to realize how lucky they really are to have people that love them enough to get them out of their cozy beds, into their clean clothes, ushered into their warm car and taken to get a free education. Because on the other side of the world, millions of kids are sleeping outside, in hiding, trying to make it during the day and night to a safe place. Forced out of their countries, placed in a sea of tents for probably the rest of their lives. And thats IF they arent captured and slaughtered. Maybe if American youth saw this they would think twice about how hard their lives are. Go to school everyday because they have one. Respect their parents because they have them. Love and live a good life, because they have one.
