I was told by many in my clan from the middle of last year including some distant relatives that, Just suck it up and accept the fact that he -- Mr Nice Guy -- can never be a part of Hohs clan. He can never be a part of us and be with you as he is such a coward and he has treated you like a doormat and has neglected your feelings, needs and wants even as a friend. He has already failed you in our eyes as your friend and how could you allow him to be in your life when hed continuedly not shown any sign of anything beyond than that of friendship? Dont be stupid, Li Chin. You deserve someone better than him. We have invested a lot in you to raise you up as a creme de la creme, the top and to live up your name which is Beautiful Pearl. We dont make you submit to us and to learn the art of submission, manners and etiquette for nothing. Ultimately, we want you to be a lady and to be someone who shines like a pearl. Someone whom we could be proud of for carrying our name and our lineage. He can be an acquaintance and a friend to you. But, he can never be a part of our clan. Just remember that. Wed prefer that you do without him, I remember that I hung my head low as I listened to them a year ago. I can no longer hide from the fact though I tried very hard to shut my eyes and my ears. Tears cut through my cheeks as their words seeped into me. I am sorry. I have to leave. I am sorry, I whispered to myself.
