I was upgraded to a Kitchenaid Pro 600 stand mixer as a gift Christmas this year, however today when I was making the same dough I frequently made previously in my Kitchenaid Artisan it began to smoke and shut down, and continued to smoke for a few minutes. See attached video. I was unable to contact any assistance by phoning the 1-800 number, as your service desk was closed. Should I return it to The Bay where it was purchased or should I deal with Kitchenaid directly for assistance? I have the receipt and the original packaging. Also, is there any safety concerns with this type of incident?
