I was very lucky to grow up in a military family where we learned first hand what it meant to serve your country! Sometimes we saw that service through my father suiting up to go to work, sometimes through my mother holding down the fort while Dad was gone, sometimes through the tying of yellow ribbons when my brother, uncle, or a friend was deployed. We never questioned though what service to country meant to my father when we witnessed a choked back tear as he sang the National Anthem. My father chose to serve a country that was not even his own because he believed so strongly in what this country stood for. Dad I thank you for your service and your beliefs in the greater good of this country! To all serving in the armed forces and to their families serving alongside their soldier I thank you for doing what so many couldnt!!!
