I was wanting to know if anyone might be able to help identify my cast iron bean pot? I acquired it several years ago from the estate of a Civil War collector in Carthage Missouri! I will be selling it on ebay, and would like to provide as much accurate information as possible! It is marked, U. F. No. 2 on the lid. It is approximately 8 1/4 inches in diameter, and 11 inches tall, including the bale. It has a gate mark on both the pot and lid. I have researched for some time, and cannot identify the age or maker? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
