Jason got a call a few minutes before getting off, so now Christmas for us has to be put on hold, and he works 12 hours tomorrow, so our family time was already limited. I know what he does is necessary, and that someone is in need when a call comes in. But there are times I really hate the no set off times, no ways to really plan anything, no spending time with your family when they want to be with you, and need you there. Your home life takes a back seat. It may sound very selfish, and yes, maybe I am. But the men and women that are our police, fire, EMS, emergency doctors and nurses.. yall deserve to have that time with your families too. It saddens me to think that we dont get to celebrate Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Years, or really any holiday the way others do. Some days its kinda hard to deal with when a three year old little girl is going to the door looking for Daa-ee to come home and be with her, and I cant tell her when he will be.. Especially when its Christmas Eve.
