I was watching the news last night when there was a loud pounding on my door. I assumed it was aggressive trick or treaters. when I opened the door it was the 3 little boys next door that hang quite often with their grandmother screaming that the house was on fire.....to call 911.....after calling I ran up the stairs to be greeted by thick smoke and 4 ft. high flames totally engulfing the back room. I knew there was nothing I could do to help. Baltimore City Firefighters were amazing as I watched them speed up and go into action I knew I was watching real pros go about their business. With oxygen masks on they charged in and put out the bulk on the fire in rapid fashion....the next 2 hours were making sure if had not spread into the crawl space of the flat roofs where it could get to my house and my neighbor on the corner. They lost everything.....got nothing out....and the lower floor was destroyed by smoke and lots of water.....was over this morning as the heavy rain was pouring inside from everywhere as they absolutely had to cut holes in the roof to inspect whether the fire was indeed out....I have minor smoke damage, but feel pretty damn lucky. if anyone is interested in helping the family with donations of any kind, please send me a personal message and will arrange and guarantee they get them thanks.......
