I was watching the speeches of 2 leaders on TV today. Glaring differences obvious. 1] One leader on way to podium had to be shown the direction by his body-guard; he seemed to be lost; probably habituated to be told what to do by others. This was also obvious as he read a prepared speech ; no extempore speech; emotionless , no deviation from prepared text; puppet on an Italian chain. The second leader was loud , combative and aggressive; no prepared text , word flowing from angry thoughts full of misplaced confidence . He challenged the PM to a debate, an impossible position. The Congress chieftains were quick to realize the implications. They want the challenger to first fight them , as they know that their figure-head leader is incapable and will loose any fight . 2] What did I expect from a leader who as PM , is the first to approach the Italian matriarch and Crown Prince [ who incidentally initially nearly ignored him ]? MY WISHFUL THOUGHTS ON INDEPENDENCE DAY FROM BOTH MAJOR NATIONAL PARTIES . I would have been happy if both had extended their hands towards each other , agreed in public to support each other , listen to each other and work towards security of INDIA , welfare of PEOPLE of INDIA , co-operate with each other and vow in front of PEOPLE of INDIA to punish the corrupt , rather than protect them , irrespective of their status or family lineage or vote - catching ability, ensure that their party will not promote , protect , abet criminals nor give them tickets for elections or positions in their party. THIS ATTITUDE WOULD HAVE BEEN A TRUE GIFT TO PEOPLE OF INDIA
