I watched an interesting speech on TV last night from The Prime Minister of Malaysia regarding the missing 777. He made three interesting points: Firstly, he stated that the movements of the plane, and the fact that the transponder and ACARS were apparently manually turned off, is consistent with intentional diversion of the flight by persons unknown. This makes this look like a hijacking or airplane theft. (Thats not what I think happened, though; see below.) Secondly, he said it has now been proven that the unidentified plane picked up by Malaysian military primary radar is *definitely* the missing 777, and that after entering the Strait of Malacca, it turned north before exiting radar coverage. And thirdly, he stated that data from satellite pings indicates that the 777 eventually flew to one of two corridors: either a swath up north, in the Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan area; or a swath down south reaching from western Indonesia into the southern Indian Ocean. This splits the search area into two widely separated zones, one over land and the other over sea. The fact that the plane was last seen on primary radar going north is some hope that it ended up on dry land, say in Turkmenistan. Its a lot easier to find a 777 on dry land that under 5000 feet of water. I dont think this plane was hijacked, folks. Due to the wild gyrations in the planes course and altitude (changed course several times, climbed to 45,000 feet, dropped to 23,000 feet, climbed to 29,500 feet), I think the plane was out of control, and all persons on board were incapacitated or dead. Else, why wouldnt someone have phoned out on cell phone? The puzzling part, then, is the apparently-deliberate turn-off of ACARS and transponder. Who turned them off and why? And how did the plane lose internal air pressure? Was cabin pressure turned off manually too? Ok, this is my new best guess: This was a murder-suicide. One of the pilots locked the others out of the cockpit, then turned off the transponder, ACARS, and cabin pressure. Everyone on the plane then died from hypoxia and the plane became a ghost plane full of corpses, changing course and altitude randomly, blown about by gusts of wind.
