I watched the Today Show segment with the Little House cast (no need to say on the Prairie when youre a die hard fan). I sort of wish I hadnt. Im so saddened by the amount of plastic surgery Melissa Gilbert has had. Anyone who has ever watched the show with me knows I was a big fan of the orthodontia she had done, but her face shows signs of multiple surgeries. She has significantly changed her appearance. Kind of like Jennifer Gray. Karen Grassle seemed to maintain the character of Ma. She speaks so peacefully. I thought she might break into an Oh Charles! and throw her arms around somebody. True fans, you know what Im talking about. She has aged gracefully. Mary, Nellie, Albert, Almanzo, Carrie. They were all there. So many people werent. Not a full reunion, in my opinion. And I cant help wonder why others werent there, which sort of takes away from the way I loved that show and wanted to jump into my television and be part of the Ingalls family in Walnut Grove. Jason Bateman was a no show. Wonder if he was asked. I know many have passed. Cassandra wrote a book that I stumbled upon in Barnes and Noble. Apparently her mom was a real stage mom. Worked her hard. Grace? Joe Kagen? Hester Sue Terhune? Sampson? Adam? Eliza Jane? Mrs. Oleson? Perceval? Little House was better than any reality tv show...ever! I never wanted to be a Kardashian, but I sure did want to be an Ingalls. And please know that I consider the books and the shows two very separate entities. Today we are speaking about the show.
