I watched with bitterness yesterday and today how my Garifuna and Kriol sisters were handled with disgust by the protectors of the citizens. I identified three Dangrigan sistrens in the crew and one Dangrigan Brother. Oh Lord, I cannot believe that there is no justice in justice at times. Can you imagine? I know Rose for years. She is a dedicated woman who has transformed her life and got her business together. I cannot believe that the authorities ignored the fact that she is ASTHMATIC. They had no regard for her condition. The pictures of the women in the cell like hard core criminals brought tears. Where is the dignity for our sisters, who are mothers? Is this the country that is being sold to us as land of equal opportunity? Is this the Belize I love so dearly? one of the leaders said on Love News that he organized people before to do unplanned demonstration and he was told well done. now the same officer who told him well done has turned another eye because he has organized the poor and underprivileged. ooooo Lord, my heart hurts. I always reflect on the struggles of my African Ancestors and My Garifuna Ancestors and our crosses today is no different. Different Version of the same crap.
