I went through high school (and the past 17 years) without one - TopicsExpress

I went through high school (and the past 17 years) without one single romantic relationship. I used to think it was physical: the long, greasy hair, copious acne, and undesirable weight disqualified me from sweet lovin. Then, I had a growth spurt, thinned out and have since lost a few more lbs., gotten rid of the long hair, and my face mostly has cleared up. Still nothing. Now Im pretty sure I know why: nearly all the relationships I would encounter with envy lacked the depth, awareness, mutual understanding of the many complexities of the human mind, and the ability to see someone else in EVERYTHING EVER I thought was required of a relationship. NOPE. They were dime-a-dozen and, well, superficial for the most part. I dont feel so bad, and its great. Mom was right: Not a lot of people are going to get you, but those who do are REALLY going to dig you.
