I went to see The Mockingjay Part 1 today....to preface, I am a huge fan of the Hunger Games series; I have read all the books, seen all the movies, and I have loved every bit of this story, so if you dont like this series dont read this post....to get to my point though, this particular movie showed a perfect image of a strong but sensitive woman. I think it is so important to a be a strong, confident, and bold woman. It is important to stand up for what you believe in and to be able to communicate that in an effective way. Women can be great leaders and can have a great impact on those around them. At the same time, it is important for women to be sensitive. Its okay to be emotional about what is important to you and to be sensitive to when others are hurting. We were created to nurture and to love others deeply. Its important to let a man protect you and to lead you and to listen to him when he wants to help. Maybe I over analyzed Katniss too much, or maybe I just really love these books.....regardless, I truly believe there is such beauty in an independent woman who knows when to depend on someone.
