I went to see the movie The East yesterday. It is the second movie I saw with Brit Marling. I saw her in The sound of my voice. She co-wrote both those movies with her friend Zal Batmanglij who directed both. The sound of my voice was great but a little off for me. They tried too much to be ambiguous for the sake of it, instead of showing how the truth is interpreted according to the times. Still I loved the fresh voice that they brought to the screen. The East was well done. She is a young actress that will change Hollywood, the way Matt Damon and Ben Affleck hit Hollywood with Good will hunting, but hopefully she will continue to write screenplays and act!
