I went to the World War II memorial in Washington, DC yesterday on the I 70th anniversary of D-Day to honor those who fell, their families, and the veterans with us today. I remember in my thoughts and prayer the heroism of all who fought with special thoughts and prayers of my father who served as a Marine in WWII, my uncle Walter who died in the Pacific Theater, and my Scoutmaster Howard Salter and high school teachers. The Price of Freedom plaque text: The Price of freedom Freedom Wall holds 4,048 gold stars. Each gold star represents one hundred American service personnel who died or remain missing in the war.
