I went to the clinic in Arenal today to see about renewing my carnet. Just as others had advised, I now (Ive been a dependent on my husbands) must have a carnet with my own number, current payment stub etc. We went to the SS office and found out I now must pay separate, AND the same amt. as my husband. There was no split the old payment option for us, so our payment has now doubled. We had already called ARCR (who weve been set up to pay through up to now) in anticipation of todays errands and they were no help. They said theyve heard of the new requirement but had no information for us right now, not before the new year. I didnt want to chance waiting since my card expired this month and from what we have heard dependents with the old set up are being rejected at the clinics until they have the new requirement met (and proof).
