I went to the last Lit @ Lunch at the UNBC Library this noon hour, an open mic event. Six attended. The only reader other than me was Jennifer Rempel, a librarian (no relation to Al Rempel). She read poems inspired by European travel, including Estonian Rhapsody, North African Women on the T-Bahn--Oslo, and Europe in Twenty Pieces. Her experiences in Prague included a visit to a monument to Franz Kafka. Rempel described the strong impressions she experienced during her visit to Oscar Wildes grave in Paris. In addition, Rempel read a story entitled Kurt Cobain Tragical History Tour and related her experiences in visiting sites in Seattle, Olympia, Aberdeen and Hoquiam that were associated with Cobains life.
